Well still getting used to life in the mac world. it is doing funny things though that we don't understand- but i am sure we will! OK- said i would share some pics of daisy's birthday- so here they are, just went to my Aunty Lorraine's house . She got a new scooter. Not sure why it is off to the side :( oh well sorry about that! Might have something to do with the fact that it is a RAW file that I didn't change. sorry ooops looked at it again and now it is fixed lol 

I have done nothing to these photos :) Just uploaded them. so they probably need some tweaking- but i think they are lovely anyway cause they are my girlies :)

and here's my favourite of the day, well one of them lol

Just finished this layout using that photo- it has lots of hearts on it using Fiskars heart template and the fiskars funky heart punch :)

Have a happy week everyone. Hey We have Emily- Nige's daughter living with us too now. All happened last week! So we are one busy household with 5 kids. There's a bit of readjusting to do, but we'll get there.

Happy birthday dear Daisy :) and me lol

Hi,

Well i have been mia again. This time i have a good excuse! My laptop died!!! But it was still under extended warranty- so it was still covered - lucky, as it needed a new motherboard! But they wrecked the keyboard while it was gone and it doesn't matter who wrecked it, cause keyboards aren't covered under warranty :( Sooo, we now have a keyboard that doesn't type numbers and the shift key doesn't work :( I tell you, I am over red rover, windows and pc's!!!!!

Anyway, it took them a few weeks to fix, but is back online now! But it doesn't matter- because it was my birthday on the 4th and i got a new computer, but not just any computer- i got one of these......  A gorgeous porgeous 24" apple imac !!!!!

I have only had it 3 days , well this is the 4th and it is tunning! I still am not so sure of how to do everything on it, but i am typing on it now :) the screen is sooo big and beautiful - oh I am suitably impressed! and feeling very blessed and spoiled! Thanks Nigel - love you! Can't wait to do some photo editing on it :)

I think we will be replacing all the pcs in the house now- slowly of course!Anyway.. enough on me!!!!

It is my baby's birthday today, so wanted to give her a big happy birthday wish from me. We are giving her a Barbie scooter for her 6th! She has wanted one for ages and should be happy with it- too bad if she isn't lol! 

What else has been happening.. well not much.. oh Jeremy won his X point tennis tournament - hopefully it is the start of many and we can retire when he wins his 1st grand slam lol! It was a close match- they have won every game. He has a partner and they play doubles first and then a singles match each! They hadn't been beaten and had never lost a doubles match. But of course they lost their doubles match in the final, which put the pressure on! Nelson, his partner, then had to win his match... which he did- in a tie breaker- very nerve wracking! I was a mess, walking up and down the sidelines (outta site of course). Then it was all squared up and it was up to Jere! Well he won 6-0! So that was great!!!!!!! Congrats Jeremy on your first tournament win!

I would upload a pic of him playing, and one of daisy, but no photos on here yet and not really sure what i am doing yet lol!

Anyway,,,,, I guess that's a little update! 

Will share some photos when i know what i am doing more!

I posted this photo on the fiskars site :) and thought i would add it here with a couple of others! I am hearting my new camera - although it doesn't seem like it is mine lol- Nigel has flogged it :0) mmm the couple of others will come later, cause it is late and I thought they were on the flash drive, but are not :(  But, you believe me now that they will come don't you??? I have been posting alot, haven't I, earned your trust now, I have, haven't I ???????

Anyway I wanted to share this shot i took of Molly at the Park the other day. It could probably be cropped a bit - but i wanted to share it just the way it is :)  If you click on it it will go big :) that's if u really want to seee my girl larger than life, well she is like her mother, so go onnnnn. lol

school tomorrow

We are supposed to be starting school tomorrow- well that was the plan - but i have been sick yesterday and today - so i am not feeling like i will be up to it. We might start off with just a little school and that's all.

So, not really much to say but thought i would post a photo I took of the girls at the beginning of the school year. Daisy started kindy this year. All the girls wanted school uniforms lol- so i went and bought them some from target :) I think the lady thought we were weird with 3 different uniforms lol. So I'll leave you with the photo and go back to my sick bed :(

HI,

I have been busy again :) I created a post over at the fiskars blog about journaling- it is a simple article although long :) It has some ideas about how to journal, different ways etc. If you would like to read it it is over here http://www.fiskarscraft.typepad.com/  The link appears to not be working- not sure why - if you google fiskars blog it should come up though- not sure what I am doing wrong- anyone know??????Scroll down it is on the first page :) I tried to copy and paste it here, but couldn't remember how lol!

Anyway, the blog is worth a look with loads of great ideas from some really talented ladies.

In this one I wanted Lily to do some journaling- I wanted more, but this was all I got :( Better than nothing I guess. I can't beleive she was 10 in Feb! Love the next one- simple, but I love the new Heidi Grace papers and clear embellishemnts!

The actaul photograph doesn't ahve the lightness that the photo of my layout has- IYKWIM?

And the last one is of me as a little one lol- too funny.

I had fun with the new Fiskars products- What a great company to work with :)

I am going to complete my wedding album!

 I am , I am...... I am going to scrap those photos until they are in an album! Well, maybe not all 300+ of them - but my faves i guess. I have made a start and this is layout no. 14! I am scrapping these in 8.5 x 11" The blue background is just so you couldn't see my horrible tiles on the verandah lol!

Please excuse my poor lo photography- i can't seem to get the right light - i am convinced I need a new lens or camera- I know, I know, I good workman never blames his tools- but i never said i was a good photographer lol! Edited to add- i did this post before the new camera purchase :)

Anyway... after the craft fair- I have been inspired to create- and I loved the orchard scrapbook kit we were given to play with :) 

Materials used: MOSTLY FISKARS

Scrap boss and the stencil set that comes with it. I just kept moving the flowers and embossing in different spots (that's for the plain paper from the kit used as a background)

All the rest is from the orchard scrapbook kit except for an old making memories fabric pocket i had lying around and an old alphabet that came form who knows lol!

I didn't have a threading water punch ( I do now lol) So I freehand cut this border using my fiskars scissors and tehn used the anywhere hole punch to make the holes. 

Oh those flowers were purchased at the craft fair from a lovely flower fabric store - Cambells at Morpeth!

a recent scrapbooking page

HI,

Back again lol- I have posted more this year than I have in the past 2 years! He he  - it is school hols and the kids are watching tele atm- so i am a bit bored- so I thought I'd blog. It is like talking to myself - but i guess someone else can read it and i don't look or sound so stupid.

We are having hols at home this Easter - it has been super busy though with a big Easter celebration at our CHurch and also with a combined churches Easter service in Civic Park newcastle. Jeremy has been at Mum's and is now home and played The newcastle open tennis tournament yesterday! He lost- but it is good experience.

We have been having fun with our new lens but still waiting for the mid range zoom- should be here tomorrow. Nige is now the official church photographer- which is fun, but scary too- he took like 1100 photos on the easter weekend! !!!!

I love that i can take photos insid without a flash- it is amazing! This camera gets great shots with little noise at high ISO's - loving it :)

This shot is not one of my better ones- but it is a layout i not long completed... Decided I should get my wedding album finished, so made a start, here's the page;

we got a lens - shots of our doggy

Thanks to those lovely ladies who have dropped by and made a comment- sorry i haven't responded i haven't received the email notifications like i used to - I'll have to try and fix thant :)  probably last 

Anyway we drove to sydney last monday and picked up a lens- not the one we wanted, still waiting for that- but we got a beautiful zoom lens - 70mm to 200mm. So i ahve been able to ahve a play. the whole thing weighs a ton now, which has taken a bit of getting used to lol

I have been having fun learning where all teh controls are and playing with the settings and seeing what sort of shot i'll get. FUN FUN FUN!

So... here are a couple of shots of our puppy. We got a puppy, probably in July last year - she is 1 at the end of May and we got her when she was nealry 9 weeks. SHe is sooooo cute was then and is now. Her name is Sally Sue Ann - had to ahve the three names like all my girls lol! and she is a schnoodle - Mum was a schnauzer and dad a mini poodle - so she is lovely.We love having a dog. Her hair is starting to grow back, we got her clipped when we went bush camping in January(so she wouldn't get ticks) - and she looked terrible- she is sasrting to look like our fluffy girl again now. Anyway here are some photos taken when she ws a puppy puppy....

wasn't she cute- and now shots as she is now with the beautiful,new, camera and lens (I am in love lol) these are completely untouched - just left them - what a difference in the shots between cameras hey!

This lens is camera is super fast compared to my old one and the lens is also this was shot at f2.8 on continuous focus and i just keep the shutter down and she rolled off some beautiful shots- they look like one of those flick books. I am impressed

I think they are great- but I know i have much to learn in the whole photography field - but i plan too. I am going  to do a course. 

Anyway.. I have probably bored you enough with my puppy shots and camera talk :) Hope you are enjoying your Good Friday holiday and remember why it is Good... Jesus made a way back to the Father by dying for our sins  - WOW - awesome- It's a free gift- hope you take it.

changed my mind lol

Guess what, I changed my mind lol Did more reaearch, Nigel swayed me and we have now purchased this baby!

A delightful Nikon D 700! What swayed me - well, the fact that every review I had read rated it higher in every area- except the extra features, becasue it doesn't have HD recording- and in the resolution (12.1 compare to 21). But the main reason was that it, from review pics appears to have better image quality and to me that's what it boils down to. It also felt good in my hands.

I hope i have made the right decision - i am sure i will be happy with it. Not too sure at the moment- just pouring over the menus etc becasue we can't take a photo at the moment- lol- becasue the lens we wanted is on order  :)

Thsi is the lens we are waiting for...

A 24 - 70mm F2.8ED lens- it also appears yummo! soooo we are waiting- and meanwhile i am getting to know the camera- loving it so far!

If there is actually anyone still reading this lol- does anyone come here anymore??? - if you have a camera what do you have, what do you love about it- what lens do you have???? Should I have stayed with the Canon???? Canon seems to be the camera of choice for scrapbookers - I was reading over at Scrapboxx, and most people had canons? Oh well- never was a crowd follower i guess. I am excited and can't wait to actual take a shot roflol!

a new camera!

ok, not going to mention my ridiculously long absence- who cares really. lol Anyway... today i ordered a new camera! After much thinking, researching and umming and arring- I decided on a CANON 5D mark ii - with a 24 - 105 L series lens! I will have to wait 2 weeks for it- long story- but i can't wait to get it now we have decided and it is ordered! I AM SO EXCITED!

After my little working stint at the Newcastle Stitches and craft show- I have a new interest in scrapping and photography! I have actually done 4  layouts and one off the page project this month!!! Shock horror! I can't show them yet though because they are for the fiskars blog- but i will put them on here as soon as I can :)

anyway.. this is what my new baby will look like! Just wanted to make myself remember when all this happened :) Cause it's exciting lol!

We are all well btw- Jeremy still living with us-  for a record amount of time, still having fun homeschooling all in all very happy :)
